Happy October 1st! I know, I know... the outfit is a little on the spring side for fall but I decided to wear one last bright dress before I trade out sundresses for sweaters for the next couple months. I scored this dress in Dallas for $15 the other weekend. The dress is from Apricot Lane Boutique and thankfully they have an online store where you can shop. I also bought this light denim jacket that I have wanted so badly. I figured that it would be perfect for those cool, autumn nights in the South and it was definitely appreciated last night! I love the light-wash color because it helps to brighten a dark colored outfit in the colder months. Now, converse are seriously my go-to on a daily basis. If I can't choose between black or brown boots, then I will opt for my converse. Also, they are just so darn comfortable and since I am always wanting to dress up, they make my overdressed outfits much more casual. I can already see my fall uniform consisting of oversized sweaters, chunky scarves, jeggings, and converse.

The September Issue
Mondays suck, right? Well I am going to make your Monday much better by giving you a little pick me up and motivation.
1. There is nothing I love more than being inspired to be a better person. Nobody makes me more inspired than Anna Wintour. This lady is such a fierce, hard-working woman who I admire so much. I have literally watched this video 9320841 billion times. Seriously, go watch it and your day will brighten up immediately.
2. So I ordered three dresses from sheinside.com about a week ago for under $60. Now if you ask me, that is seriously such a great deal. My only complaint is that it ships from China so it is taking a long time to arrive. I suggest you guys check it out and take advantage of their super, inexpensive prices! They really do have some great, affordable pieces for autumn and winter, plus I have heard great reviews!
3. Often times in the fall, life can get pretty stressful. Between social events on weekend and school work during the week, your body can become burdened pretty easily. Wanna know my fix? Jesus. Sometimes you need to find a quiet, little escape such as a coffee shop or a place by the river and just go sit and enjoy God's word. Any free time you get within the next couple weeks, I recommend finding
that personal place to relax with God.
4. Have I mentioned that I am obsessed with Lauren Conrad? Oh because by the way, I totally am. She was recently wed to William Tell and her wedding spread was released in Us Weekly. Look how perfect they are!
Happy Monday and have a wonderful week!
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is those who take refuge in him.

Cowboy Take Me Away
Serena Van Der Woodsen’s empire
was New York, so why can’t mine be Dallas? Someday I will be there you guys, someday. As of now, I am
just going to enjoy the pieces and bits of beauty in Dallas that I am fortunate
enough to experience. My hotel had a rooftop pool and a view that overlooked Dallas’s stunning skyline. It was honestly breathtaking and I wanted to sit
and stare for ages. I have been getting a lot of comments on this dress and I think you will be shocked when I tell you where I bought it from... Marshall's! It was less than $20 and I think that makes me love it even more! If you can't tell, my hair is big. Really big. How can you be in Texas though without having huge hair? I went to this cute restaurant called The Rustic. Apparently, it's a big deal there. They have a backyard set up with picnic tables and lights and a band that plays. It was so cool! I finally caved and bought Jacks the other day because I found this brown and gold combination that I have never seen before. I love them! I also thought my longhorn necklace was appropriate for the occasion. ;)

Fall Vibes
It's almost that time of year for cooler weather (okay not really...it is still a sauna in Georgia for the most part), Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes, and FALL FASHION!!! I don't know about you but I love getting all dressed up in the winter. Something about layering with scarves and putting on a cozy sweater in the mornings gets me so excited, not to mention that cooler weather means the holidays are right around the corner... crazy right?! One thing I have loved about July and early August is the Nordstrom sale. Not only are you getting amazing prices for new fall trends, but also getting a sneak peek of what will be popular for this season. I picked out a few of my favorite pieces that I really hope I can purchase throughout the next couple of months!
R O M P E R | Okay, I know I might talk about the weather down South a lot but you really will never understand unless you live here! There will be days where it is still 80 degrees in October and that is no fun when all you want to wear is scarves and boots. Therefore, this romper is a wonderful alternative when you are wanting to dress in fall colors but still want to breath. I for sure will be purchasing this little number from Target to wear on days when it is scorching outside but I don't want to look like a crazy person by wearing shorts and sandals in October.
S L I P - O N S | These shoes are a huge trend for fall. I have seen camo, leopard, and leather prints from multiple stores! Such an easy shoe to pair with anything and are guarenteed to be comfortable. Now that I think about it, a slip-on will be perfect for shopping days when it gets cooler so when you try on clothes you aren't constantly having to pull off those bulky pair of boots! The style pictured is from Steve Madden, however I found an identical pair for one-third the price from Forever 21.
P H O N E C A S E | I am trying to hold off on buying a new phone case because my contract is up and I am patiently waiting to grab the iPhone 6!! That doesn't mean I can't at least lust over some.. right?? Well I saw this super cute one from Kate Spade and I am loving the clear case with gold design!
S T A T E M E N T E A R R I N G S | Necklaces can be a pain in the fall because they get in the way of scarves... that being said earrings are not out of the picture! Kendra Scott came out with some GORGEOUS fall colors that I was fortunate enough to get my hands on during the Nordstrom sale. I picked up these slate-colored beauties and I am obsessed.
G O L D C U F F | I bought a similar cuff like the one pictured from Forever 21 in July and I have worn it so much. The cuff replaces layering bracelets and its simplicity may fool you but I promise it is so chic. I have received numerous compliments from people when I wear mine. Make sure to snag this one from Vince Camuto.
C L A S S I C R I D I N G B O O T S | If there is one thing I can guarantee you, it is that boots are always a must-have for fall. Sometimes it is best to invest in a high quality pair versus a pair for $30. There are always great places with a variety of styles such as Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, and Macy's. I am craving these from Tory Burch. Maybe I'll get a pair for Christmas!
L E A T H E R S A T C H E L | I recently purchased a beautiful Michael Kors satchel for fall and I am in love. It holds literally everything and I like the option to carry it as a cross body or in the crook of my arm. I found some at Nordstrom that I am dying over, including this Rebecca Minkoff and this Tory Burch.
I hope this gave you guys some inspiration for what to buy this fall. With Christmas right around the corner, it's not too early to start your wish list!

Legally Blonde
I swear I didn’t realize how much of a complete prep I
looked like until I saw these pictures. Also, can I mention that I felt like Elle Woods on Harvard’s campus? This
look is totally out of my comfort zone because I am not used to looking
professional in a blazer or stripes; however, I think this would be quite
perfect for interview attire. The weather was honestly glorious on campus. Zero
humidity. Let me say that again. Zero humidity, people! Okay, so maybe there
was a little, but I couldn’t tell at all and the breeze felt so nice. Not going
to lie, I did grab a Pumpkin Spice Latte in the morning to set the fall mood.
As I just typed the words fall, I realized it’s the first day of the autumn
equinox. Wow, I really am a blonde. Do I get brownie points for posting on the
first day of fall?
Patiently waiting for Emmett to
come along and swoop me up

Boulevarding
Yesterday I went tailgating on The Boulevard at Southern
Methodist University. I had so much fun, however, SMU was SMUshed by Texas
A&M. The weather was pretty nice other than the fact that the stadium was in
the direct sunlight with no shade. I am pretty sure half the student section
left by the end of the first quarter. Overall, it was a great day and I enjoyed
people watching and admiring everybody’s cute game day outfits. Yeah, by the
way apparently it was a white out and I did not get the memo… the bright red
boots did not assist me at all (try not to laugh too much).
If you are looking for a college, seriously look into
Southern Methodist University! I feel like it is a hidden little secret that
many people do not know about. The campus is absolutely gorgeous, the students
are so friendly, and with the location in the middle of downtown Dallas it is
for sure upbeat! There is so much to do in the city and always a game or event
going on.

Where I Have Been
Hey guys! Welcome to my new blog, State of Greyce. If you
followed my blog before, you probably have realized much has changed. For
starters, the design of my blog has transformed majorly (make sure to be
viewing in desktop mode if you are on a phone). I was unhappy with the look of
my last blog and wanted to give it a cleaner and more professional aesthetic
appearance. Secondly, I was dissatisfied with the content I was posting and the
frequency of my posts. Starting fall semester of school definitely consumed my
time and honestly I did not have any motivation to blog at the moment in my life. With that
being said, I feel like I am better prepared to have a go again and bring to
you even better content! Follow me as I post about outfits, makeup, music,
traveling, and life!
Life Lately
The other day I went to my best friend's baby cousin's baptism. It was so beautiful and I wore this green dress from Reddress Boutique.
I have always said I would not buy Jacks but I came across some brown and gold ones and I figured they would be perfect for fall since it is still so dang hot.
I was exploring the other day and came across this cute, little restaurant and stopped to have a coffee. I will for sure be posting a city guide in the future that includes this little shop.
I am currently in Dallas, one of my favorite cities. I am pretty sure I have a sickness where I cannot stop wandering because I have been having travel fever for a while now!My plane ride essentials included coffee and the Us Weekly magazine. Can you guess why? Lauren Conrad is my idol and her wedding spread was gorgeous. It makes me want to start planning my nonexistent wedding. Really though, go get this issue if you have not.
How gorgeous was this view as I flew into Dallas on Friday night?!
I have so many ideas planned for some posts, so I am hoping I will be able to fit them all in. Life has been a roller coaster lately and I am praying things will settle within the next week. Hope you all are enjoying the weekend!
