Flannel Fever

After going on a little shopping trip this weekend, I suddenly became ten times more excited for cooler weather. I stocked up on some fall basics including button downs, jeans, and structured skirts. I am so excited to start pairing them with boots and scarves! It was definitely a little chilly today so I tucked this warm flannel from J. Crew Factory into a white pencil skirt. I know what you're thinking... white after labor day?! It works you guys, I promise. Let's just call it "winter white". I love a nice pair of ankle booties with skirts in the fall since it's not exactly cold enough to wear tall boots yet (the time will come though). I also really like how my grey Kendra Scott earrings and this Sara Bella Necklace from Nordstrom compliment the outfit so well. However, I can't wait to switch out my jewelry for a fur scarf!

Cowboy Take Me Away

Serena Van Der Woodsen’s empire was New York, so why can’t mine be Dallas?  Someday I will be there you guys, someday. As of now, I am just going to enjoy the pieces and bits of beauty in Dallas that I am fortunate enough to experience. My hotel had a rooftop pool and a view that overlooked Dallas’s stunning skyline. It was honestly breathtaking and I wanted to sit and stare for ages. I have been getting a lot of comments on this dress and I think you will be shocked when I tell you where I bought it from... Marshall's! It was less than $20 and I think that makes me love it even more! If you can't tell, my hair is big. Really big. How can you be in Texas though without having huge hair? I went to this cute restaurant called The Rustic. Apparently, it's a big deal there. They have a backyard set up with picnic tables and lights and a band that plays. It was so cool! I finally caved and bought Jacks the other day because I found this brown and gold combination that I have never seen before. I love them! I also thought my longhorn necklace was appropriate for the occasion. ;)

Legally Blonde

I swear I didn’t realize how much of a complete prep I looked like until I saw these pictures. Also, can I mention that I felt like Elle Woods on Harvard’s campus? This look is totally out of my comfort zone because I am not used to looking professional in a blazer or stripes; however, I think this would be quite perfect for interview attire. The weather was honestly glorious on campus. Zero humidity. Let me say that again. Zero humidity, people! Okay, so maybe there was a little, but I couldn’t tell at all and the breeze felt so nice. Not going to lie, I did grab a Pumpkin Spice Latte in the morning to set the fall mood. As I just typed the words fall, I realized it’s the first day of the autumn equinox. Wow, I really am a blonde. Do I get brownie points for posting on the first day of fall?

Patiently waiting for Emmett to come along and swoop me up

Boulevarding

Yesterday I went tailgating on The Boulevard at Southern Methodist University. I had so much fun, however, SMU was SMUshed by Texas A&M. The weather was pretty nice other than the fact that the stadium was in the direct sunlight with no shade. I am pretty sure half the student section left by the end of the first quarter. Overall, it was a great day and I enjoyed people watching and admiring everybody’s cute game day outfits. Yeah, by the way apparently it was a white out and I did not get the memo… the bright red boots did not assist me at all (try not to laugh too much).

If you are looking for a college, seriously look into Southern Methodist University! I feel like it is a hidden little secret that many people do not know about. The campus is absolutely gorgeous, the students are so friendly, and with the location in the middle of downtown Dallas it is for sure upbeat! There is so much to do in the city and always a game or event going on.

Where I Have Been

Hey guys! Welcome to my new blog, State of Greyce. If you followed my blog before, you probably have realized much has changed. For starters, the design of my blog has transformed majorly (make sure to be viewing in desktop mode if you are on a phone). I was unhappy with the look of my last blog and wanted to give it a cleaner and more professional aesthetic appearance. Secondly, I was dissatisfied with the content I was posting and the frequency of my posts. Starting fall semester of school definitely consumed my time and honestly I did not have any motivation to blog at the moment in my life. With that being said, I feel like I am better prepared to have a go again and bring to you even better content! Follow me as I post about outfits, makeup, music, traveling, and life!

Life Lately

The other day I went to my best friend's baby cousin's baptism. It was so beautiful and I wore this green dress from Reddress Boutique.
I have always said I would not buy Jacks but I came across some brown and gold ones and I figured they would be perfect for fall since it is still so dang hot.
I was exploring the other day and came across this cute, little restaurant and stopped to have a coffee. I will for sure be posting a city guide in the future that includes this little shop.
I am currently in Dallas, one of my favorite cities. I am pretty sure I have a sickness where I cannot stop wandering because I have been having travel fever for a while now!
My plane ride essentials included coffee and the Us Weekly magazine. Can you guess why? Lauren Conrad is my idol and her wedding spread was gorgeous. It makes me want to start planning my nonexistent wedding. Really though, go get this issue if you have not.
How gorgeous was this view as I flew into Dallas on Friday night?!

I have so many ideas planned for some posts, so I am hoping I will be able to fit them all in. Life has been a roller coaster lately and I am praying things will settle within the next week. Hope you all are enjoying the weekend!
